Didymes

Didymes (= twins) are two small villages located at the southeastern part of the island, near Kataraktis, about 17 Km. from Chios town. The first village is called Mesa Didyma and the second is called Exo Didyma. The few inhabitants are mainly farmers. They cultivate mastic trees and olive trees. Near to Mesa Didyma is located the monastery of Agia Matrona and near to Exo Didyma is located the church of Panagia Sikelia.
