Comments: We were in Chios for 4 days and stayed at the Chandris for two, if we could have left we would have but had a standing meeting with family there. Once our family, originally from Chios and they had recommended the place, arrived they were stunned at how low the place had come and wanted to leave as soon as we could. We checked out the next day and located a different hotel.
It was very similar to a inexpensive Holiday Inn with no upgrades and they charged outrageous prices. Every thing was shabby and the carpets were filthy, they should have just tiled everything and kept it clean.
We had a wonderful view and the breakfast was really quite nice and that is all I can say that was positive, oh we did have hot water all the time.
I would not recommend it, go either to Karfas which is wonderful or north of the Chios Town, which is what we did as soon as our family arrived.

Goed ontbijtbuffet. Prima personeel, uiterst correct.
Prima locatie i.v.m. ligging.

Comments: The Chios Chandris is the flagship hotel of the Chandris Group, once a family owned venture that included Chandris Cruise Lines (now Celebrity Cruise Lines). The Chios Chandris has all the hallmarks of old world Greek hospitality. Catering mostly to Greeks, the restaurant in the hotel has wonderful dishes that veer from the standard taverna fare offering Greek specialties but also "continental" cuisine. The service is fantastic under the leadership of George, the maitre'd, whom I recognized from 22 years earlier at the Athens Chandris Hotel.
We stayed in a studio, which had a bedroom with bathroom, and a separate room with a single bed/divan and a mini-fridge, table and chairs, and stove top. Great for families. The rate was a mere 104 Euros. Our room overlooked a very large, clean pool, and the balconies had views of the sea.

Though not luxurious, the hotel keeps the Chandris standard of quality, so no ugly surprises. It made me nostalgic for my travels of two decades earlier.

is echter nogal teleurstellend
